Biography - Clifford M. Renshaw, Principal

Following an undergraduate education at Brown University, where he received an AB degree with Honors in Architectural History, Clifford Renshaw received his Masters of Architecture degree from Columbia University where he also studied in their Historic Preservation Program.

Prior to returning to Rhode Island to serve for several years as Historical Architect for the Rhode Island Historical Preservation Commission, Mr. Renshaw worked in New York for the nationally prominent architectural firms of Robert A. M. Stern and Edward Larrabee Barnes. His experience in the office of Robert Stern, well-known as an early proponent of Post Modern architecture, gave him solid grounding in residential design and interior detailing. His work with Mr. Barnes gave him experience with finely crafted commercial and institutional design.

Mr. Renshaw is registered to practice architecture in the State of Rhode Island and he maintains his certification with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is an active member of many civic and professional organizations, including the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Providence Preservation Society, where he has been a member of the Design Review and the Historic Marker Committees, and the Cocumscussoc Association, where he is a member of the Long-range Site Planning Committee. He is also a member of such environmental organizations as the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association and the Apeiron Institute for Sustainable Living.
